University of East London, London, England
Continuum - Centre for Widening Participation Policy Studies

With over 23,000 students from 120 countries worldwide, The University of East London is one of the UK's most diverse and fastest growing universities. At the heart of Europe's largest regeneration area. UEL plays an integral role in local development, inspiring generations with an enthusiasm for new ideas and new learning.

This unique programme is designed to provide an overview of the English system of education in the context of fair access and social justice for underrepresented and disadvantaged groups. The programme is delivered by academics, practitioners and policy makers, all of whom are recognized experts in their field. In addition to reviewing policy and practice scholars have the opportunity to engage in academic discussion, exploring theoretical underpinnings of the access agenda as well as honing and sharpening their research skills.

The McNair Scholars and faculty from various programs will participate in the program based at the University of East London. In additional to their participation in the UEL Continuum ISI, scholars will have the opportunity to present at the 2011 FACE Conference (Forum for Access & Continuing Education) which will be hosted by the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
